Wildlife Encounters

Tsavo East is a celebrated biodiversity stronghold, home to an extraordinary range of species that thrive within its unspoiled landscapes. The park shelters immense elephant populations and supports all members of the Big Five, though rhinos remain elusive. Tsavo is also renowned for its distinctive maneless lions, as well as cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and rare antelope species such as the gerenuk and lesser kudu and a paradise with over 500 recorded bird species. The open skies and acacia woodlands host everything from majestic ostriches to brilliantly colored kingfishers and striking hornbills.
